| Broome Overview |
Broome is located in far north Western Australia and at the Southern most tip of the Kimberley Region. Established as a pearling port in the 1880's, Broome is a delightful township where coconut palms and frangipanis grow in abundance. Broome is set against the gorgeous backdrop of Roebuck Bay and is renowned for its warm, year-round climate, beautiful beaches, galleries, cafes, breweries and festivals. Pearling capital of the world and home of the 130 million year old dinosaur footprints which can be seen at low tide at Gantheaume Point, Broome is a wonderful outback oasis and popular tourist destination. |

Staircase to the Moon: Between April and October witness the natural optical illusion commonly referred to as "the staircase to the moon". The phenomenon occurs on Roebuck Bay between March and October, on the night of a full moon and at extremely low tides. The best viewing can be seen from Town Beach or at the Mangrove Hotel where an outdoor band is organised for the evening.
