The Avignon Festival: The popular Avignon Festival featuring music, theatre and street performers from all over the world is held annually during July.
The terraced gardens of Rocher des Doms: This great monument of Avignon should not be missed. Sitting at the foot of the Rhône, the gardens, laid out in 1830, offer spectacular views of the River Rhône and the ruined bridge of Pont St-Bénezet.
Musee Angladon: The Angladon-Dubrujeaud museum is home to a collection of works by major artists from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The museum is kept by Jean and Paulette Angladon-Dubrujeaud, who converted their house into a museum for the sake of preserving these fine works. The couple are heirs of the famous Parisian couturier and collector, Jacques Doucet.
The Calvet Foundation: The Calvet Foundation was one of France's first museums, and its impressive collection contains more than 28,000 items on its inventory, divided into domains as diverse as archaeology, beaux-arts (painting, sculpture, drawing), decorative arts (gold and silver objects, china and porcelain, tapestries, iron items), and ethnology (Asia, Oceania, Africa).
