Travel Tips in Italy
Italy is a land of excitement, bursting with colour, friendly people and fabulous things to watch. Of all European countries, Italy is perhaps the hardest to classify. It is a modern, industrialized nation. Italy has much to offer the discriminating traveller: beautiful landscapes, an ancient and interesting culture. Few countries offer such variety and few visitors leave without a fervent desire to return. The country is not to be missed for discovering.
Italy Attractions
Some of the Sights and location for which Italy is famous for are as follows.
- Portofino: Explore the peaceful walking paths of picture-perfect Portofino, where Europe's jetset royals, film stars and other glitterati come to holiday year after year.
- Assisi: In Assisi, attend one of the fairly frequent concerts in the Upper Church of the Basilica di San Francesco, a space so beautiful and uplifting the music truly takes on celestial dimensions.
- Mount Etna: Climb to the uppermost level of the third-century BC Teatro Greco in Taormina, Sicily, for a view of snow-capped Mount Etna, then let your gaze plunge to the turquoise sea far, far below.

When to Travel Italy
Summer is hot, especially in the south. Spring and autumn are mild with fine weather. Winter in the south is much drier and warmer than in northern and central areas. Mountain regions are colder with heavy winter snowfalls. The nicest time to visit, in terms of the weather and lack of crowds, is April to late June, or September and October. Winters are mild in the south of the country, Rome and below, but in the north they can be at least as cold as anywhere in the northern hemisphere, sometimes worse.
