Christchurch Priory: This 11th
Century Priory Church is renowned for
its "miraculous beam" and unique architecture.
If you happen to be in the city during
July, go along to the Priory Gardens and
enjoy an open air Shakespearian production
performed by the Bournemouth Shakespeare
players.
The Red Museum: This 1764 heritage
site sits adjacent the Priory and provides
an insight into Christchurch's history
through geological, archaeological and
historical displays.
Botanic Gardens: The 161 hectares
of Hagley Park display exotic and indigenous
plants. The gardens brilliant sweeping
lawns give Christchurch its famous name
"the garden city".
Christchurch Gondola: You will
experience 360-degree panoramic views
of the city, Caterbury Plains and Lyttelton
Harbour as you rise to the summit of Christchurch's
famous extinct volcano.
Highcliffe Castle: Damaged by
fire in the 1960's, this spectacular castle
that was once home to Lord Stuart de Rothesday
has been extensively restored and features
unique medieval stonework.
