| Travel Tips in Jerez Frontera |
Jerez de la Frontera was one of the "Frontier" towns between areas ruled by the Moorish Caliphs and by the Christian Monarchs. "De la Frontera" (on the border). That's where the name came from. De la Frontera" was attached to many of the town names who existed on this fuzzy border. Most scholars will agree that the city is the birthplace of Flamenco, but because of the nomadic nature of the Gypsies, who moved from town to town selling their wares and doing odd jobs, it was soon spread throughout Spain. |
